My First Speaking Engagement: A Journey of Inspiration and Rediscovery
Hey sweet ladies!
Today, I had my very first speaking engagement. I've done style shows and pop-up stores before, but being asked to speak was a completely new experience for me. They actually wanted to hear what I had to say! I was truly honored. 🌟
I initially prepared a speech covering topics like "How does consignment work?" and "The history of Smart Girls." I was nervous, unsure of exactly what these wonderful ladies would want to hear from me. But this morning, God had another plan for my speech. He nudged me towards sharing my personal story. Hmm. If God was asking me to speak about something specific, I knew I needed to listen. After all, when God intervenes, He has something important to say, right?
So, I stood up there, ready to share my wisdom, after praying that God would speak through me. Not my words, but His. And you know what? The speech just rolled off my lips. I wasn’t a bit nervous in front of almost 80 ladies.
I did talk about Smart Girls, but I also shared my passion for helping women feel beautiful beyond clothes and makeup. I talked about how I didn’t really like myself for a very long time and how I knew I wasn’t alone in feeling that way. It’s time for women to feel great about themselves again.
A fire was lit under me to live out this passion. My job had become just that…a job. But this speech reminded me that I am here for so much more than just selling clothes. I was told my speech was inspirational, and you know what, I agree. It definitely inspired me. 🔥

Thank you all for your continued support and love. Let's keep inspiring each other to feel beautiful inside and out.

P.S. Here are a few photos from the pop up store we had as well. It was a fun day!

What a wonderful message and I love that God lead and you just allowed Him and flowed with it.
Even though I taught college and high school for 35 plus years, I have always had difficulty speaking in front of a group of peers. I really enjoyed your story.
